Marion Walter Jonas

A graveside committal for Marion Walter Jonas, 92, of Coos Bay, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Park, 63060 Millington Frontage Road in Coos Bay, with Pastor J.L. Coffey of First Baptist Church of North Bend officiating.
Walter was born April 21, 1920, in Dowagiac, Michigan the son of Charles W. Jonas and Myrtle E. (Smothers) Jonas. He passed away July 24, 2012, in Coos Bay from Natural Causes.
Walt never met a stranger, he loved to talk and he loved people. He spent his working years doing a variety of different things, most recently working in real estate for Justrom and Stromme Inc. After retirement, his wife, Donnavieve and he would travel to Yuma, Arizona to spend the winters enjoying the nice weather. Walt lost Donna in December of 1997 after a battle with cancer.
Walt was faithful to his morning coffee klatch, spending weekday mornings at the Fred Meyer Deli socializing over a cup of coffee. Walt was well liked and will be missed.
