A graveside service will be held for Mary I. Stovall, 87, of Coos Bay at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Sunset memorial Gardens with pastor Jerry Steele, of North Bend First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Mary was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Portland, to Roscoe and Grace West. She died Jan. 7, 2012, in Coos B ay.
She graduated with a bachelor's degree in education form Oregon State University in 1947 and taught at Marshfield and Beaverton high schools before marrying Harold Stovall in 1950. They settled and raised their three children at the family home in North Bend, where Mary lived for the next 52 years.
Mary is survived by her children and their spouses, Kelly Frost of Tigard, Debbie and Roger Spring of Tigard and Jim and Carol Stovall of Lakeside; four grandchildren, Jonathan and Anita Spring of Redmond, Sarah Spring of Grants Pass, Dustin Stovall of North Bend and Jenny and Tyler Fuller of San Diego, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Harold, in 1990.
The family wishes to thank Sherry and Paul Bright of Almost Home and their excellent staff for the love and exceptional care they gave Mary during the last eight years of her life.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church, 2289 Meade St., North Bend, OR 97459.
