A remembrance of life for Richard E. Kaufmann, 56, of Coos Bay, formerly of Reedsport, will be held at a later date.  Private cremation rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay.

Richard was born April 29, 1961 in Florence to Heinz W. Kaufmann and Louise M. Hurt.  He passed away Sept. 19, 2017 in Coos Bay.

Richard lived his whole life in the Reedsport area.  He graduated from Reedsport High School and was an avid Reedsport Brave fan!

Richard was a building contractor; specializing in excavation and concrete work.

He loved jet-skiing, snow-skiing, three-wheeling, rafting and spending time at Loon Lake.  He was also a long time member of the Reedsport Lions Club.

He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

Richard is survived by his mother, Louise Hurt of Corona, Calif.; step-mom, Diane Kaufmann of Coos Bay; brothers, Steven Kaufmann of Reedsport, Ron Kaufmann and wife, Caryn of Oregon City; sister, Susan Stump of Stockton, Calif.; step-brother, Jeff Kaufmann of Coos Bay; half-sister, Kari and husband, Brent Mann of Phoenix, Ariz.; half-brother, Charles Hurt of Miss.; uncle, Gerhardt and wife, Marlene Kaufmann of Reedsport; nephews, Chris and wife, Tasha and daughter, Charleston Kaufmann of Clackamas, Oreg., Ryan and daughter, Aliyah Kaufmann of Springfield, Oreg., Ryley Mann of Phoenix, Ariz..; nieces, Jessica Stump of Stockton, Calif., Ashton Mann of Phoenix, Ariz.; great-nephew, Richard Stump of Stockton, Calif.; great-nieces, Delecia Stump of Stockton, Calif. and Britney Hurt of Miss.

He was preceded in death by his father, Heinz Kaufmann and his brother, Gary Kaufmann.

Memorial contributions in Richard’s name may be made to the Reedsport Lions Club, P.O. Box 24 in Reedsport.
